چکیده
Traditionally, strain gauge, extensometer, and reflection tracking markers have been used to measure the deformation of materials under loading. However, anisotropy inhomogeneity most biological restricted accessibility real field. Compared video digital image correlation has advantage providing full-field displacement as well information. In this study, a method (DIC) measurement system was employed for chicken breast bio-tissue measurement. To increase contrast better correlation, mixture ground black pepper white sesame sprayed on surface samples. The first step correct distorted caused by lens using inverse calibration then influence subset size criteria, sum squared differences (SSD), zero-normalized (ZNSSD) were investigated experimentally accurate Test results sample translated along horizontal direction from 0 mm 3 mm, with an increment 0.1 result compared, set translation stage. shows that error is less than 3%, can be achieved proper preparation, size, criterion, correction. Detailed examination values show εx proportional crosshead, but εy indicates viscoelastic behavior tested bio-tissue. addition, bio-tissue’s linear birefringence extracted Mueller matrix polarimetry comparison in good agreement. As noted above, integration optical parameter proposed paper analyze relationship between changes parameters tissue, thus relative optic-stress coefficient significantly characterized if Young’s modulus tissue known.

applying digital image correlation method to measure flow field
in this study digital image correlation (dic) technique combined with a high speed video system was used to predict movement of particles in a water model. comparing with particle-image velocimetry (piv) technique, it provides a low cost alternative approach to visualize flow fields and was successfully employed to predict the movement of particles in a water model at different submergence dept...
متن کاملOn the Use of Acoustic Emission and Digital Image Correlation for Welded Joints Damage Characterization
A series of tests have been conducted to investigate fatigue damage characterization in corroded welded steel plates using structural health monitoring (SHM) techniques. Acoustic Emission (AE) is a non-destructive testing (NDT) technique with potential applications for locating and monitoring fatigue cracks in service. In the present work, AE is implemented to characterize damage during crack e...
متن کاملInvestigation of optimal digital image correlation patterns for deformation measurement
Digital image correlation (DIC) relies on the visible surface features of a specimen to measure deformation. When the specimen itself has little to no visible features, a pattern is applied to the surface which deforms with the specimen and acts as artificial surface features. Since recent pattern application methods, e.g., micro-stamping [1] and lithography [2] allow for the application of hig...
متن کاملApplying Digital Image Correlation to Biological Materials
Digital image correlation has become a common method for determining mechanical properties of rigid engineering materials. By comparing digital images of the material before and after deformation, strain and displacement response can be determined. In the current work, we expand this method for use on soft biological materials, in particular skin. Specifically, we show that digital image correl...
